About the Author
Fan Qun is a member of the China Poetry Society; one of the initiators (Vice Chairman) of the International Poetry Film Movement; a contracted writer and photographer for Hong Kong Literature and Art magazine; Visiting Professor at the Hong Kong Academy of Literature and Arts; Executive Vice President of the Silk Road Literature Institute; Editorial Board Member of Voice of the Americas; Artistic Director of the Canglang Yayuan Poetry Society in Beijing; and recipient of the Golden Camel Award at the Fifth Silk Road International Poetry Art Festival.

石瘦，崖枯
草木用最后一点力，维持喘息
风唳，雨疾
一些戴面具的人，把德令哈的石头
还给了石头
你们绑架了我的女儿
这里必将成为荒原
德墨忒尔满眼泪光
堂吉诃德再次把矛，刺向风车
赫斯提亚头戴王冠，手举旗帜
皇帝的新衣，耀眼无比
他四处打量：
我是你们的王
我掌握着真理的武器
只有我，才是拯救荒原的唯一
现在你们必须把文字打包，换成金币
小心你们的舌头

Stones grow thin, cliffs wither.
Grass and trees use their last breath
to keep themselves alive.
The wind howls, the rain lashes.
Some people wearing masks
return the stones of Delingha
to the stones.
You kidnapped my daughter.
This place will surely become a wasteland.
Demeter’s eyes brim with tears.
Don Quixote once more thrusts his spear
at the windmills.
Hestia wears a crown, holds a banner high.
The Emperor’s New Clothes glitter dazzlingly.
He looks around in every direction:
“I am your king.
I hold the weapon of truth.
Only I am the one
who can save the wasteland.
Now you must pack up your words
and exchange them for gold.
Mind your tongues.”
The code in Zeus’s hand gleams with golden light.
Your banners have long been stained by profit.
Your doctrines, too,
will be judged by time.
The weapon that can save the wasteland
is the conscience and clarity
you have nearly cast aside.
One flower cannot uphold the spring.
Only when a hundred flowers bloom
can the wasteland flourish.
Haizi remains silent.
Don Quixote, beneath the windmill,
snores like thunder.
