湿吻

     ─怀念剛去世的犬孙可可

他闭着眼

习惯地伸出右手

摸索床边

柔顺的皮毛 

以及短促热切的

呼气

却突然被一个

冰冷生硬的凹陷

惊醒了过来

睁开眼

他看到他的手

正呆呆地

在那无限扩张的虚空里

干等

一个沾满口水

调皮偷袭的

A WET KISS

      — for my granddog Coco who recently passed away 

with eyes closed

he habitually stretched his right hand

over the bed side

to feel for the soft fur

and her panting 

warm breath

but was startled 

by a frigid hollow

that snapped his eyes open

he saw his stupefied hand

stuck in the middle of an ever-expanding emptiness

waiting 

for a warm 

sloppy kiss

that never came

运气

那纯然是我的运气

一大早拉开窗帘

便看到两只松鼠

在阳光亮丽的白雪上追逐嬉戏

死寂了一整个冬天的后院

终于又有了生气

那纯然是它们的运气

刚从昏睡的黑洞里爬出来

便有一双闪光的眼睛

在拉开的窗帘后面出现

将它们的活泼天真

一一捕捉下来

并把它们短暂的探险

写成了一首诗

LUCK

it was my sheer luck

upon raising the shade in the morning

to catch sight of a couple of squirrels

chasing each other

on the sun-drenched snow 

the backyard dead in the long winter

suddenly became alive

it was their sheer luck

upon emerging from their winter slumber 

that a pair of twinkling eyes appeared 

behind a raised shade

capturing their innocent vivacity

and rendering their brief adventure

into poetry

无名花之歌

红玫瑰,紫罗兰,白兰花,金银花,

这些都是人类牵强附会

胡乱安在我们头上的名字

根本同我们无关

那个凑着鼻子吻我们脸庞的小孩

根本不知道我们的名字

却是我们的知心

也让我们放心

知道他不会象那些评论家

热情澎湃摇头摆脑歌颂赞美之余

一剪刀把我们剪下

去讨好他们的情妇

或主子

SONG OF NAMELESS FLOWERS

rose, violet, gardenia, honeysuckle, 

names given to us arbitrarily by humans

have absolutely nothing to do with us 

the child who kisses our face

knows nothing about our names

yet he is a thousand times more lovable 

than those 

who after passionate admirations

would cut us without hesitation

to please their mistresses

or masters

非马,美国华裔诗人,原名马为义,英文名 William Marr,共出版了23本中英文诗集,一本汉英法三语诗集,两本英意双语诗集,7本译诗集,以及3本散文集。另外他还编选了几本中国大陆及台湾现代诗选。他的诗被译成十多种语言,并被收入台湾、大陆、英国及德国等地的教科书。曾任伊利诺州诗人协会会长。2018年并分别获得《马奎斯世界名人录》及意大利宇宙出版社国际审查董事会颁发的终身成就奖。2019年获台湾中国文艺协会颁发的第六十届中国文艺奖章(海外诗歌奖)。他的个人网站《非马艺术世界》(http://marrfei.org) 展示他的文学及艺术作品。现居芝加哥。

William Marr, a Chinese-American poet and artist, has published a total of 23 collections of poetry, including: Autumn Window (1995, 2nd ed. 1996), Between Heaven and Earth (2010), Chicago Serenade  (France, 2015), Cèzanne’s Still Life and Other Poems (Italy, 2018), and Portrait and Other Poems (Italy, 2019).   His poetry has been translated into more than ten languages and is included in high school and college textbooks in Taiwan, China, England, and Germany.  A former president of the Illinois State Poetry Society, he is a scientist by profession and has held several solo and group art exhibitions in the Chicago area and China.
